Privacy Policy
In short: This extension does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information. Your watchlists and settings are stored only on your own device. The extension contacts external sites only to perform actions you explicitly request.
1. Who this applies to
This Privacy Policy describes how the Chrome extension “Unlimited Watchlists for TradingView” (the “Extension”) handles information. The Extension is developed and maintained by Alen Sarang Satheesh (the “Developer”).
2. Information we collect
The Extension does not collect or process any personally identifiable information. It does not require an account, and it contains no analytics, tracking, advertising, or fingerprinting code.
3. Data stored on your device
The Extension saves the following locally using Chrome’s storage.local API. This data never leaves your browser and is not sent to the Developer or any third party:
- Watchlists — the names of your watchlists and the stock symbols you add to them.
- Preferences — your theme choice (dark/light), the last-selected watchlist, and the saved position of the on-page “Add to Watchlist” button.
You can clear this data at any time by removing watchlists in the Extension or by uninstalling the Extension.
4. Network requests
The Extension makes network requests only when you take an action that requires it:
- Chartink (chartink.com) — when you use “Import from Chartink”, the Extension reads the results of the Chartink screener you are viewing so it can copy the list of stock symbols into a watchlist. The symbol list is stored locally on your device. The Extension does not send your watchlists or any personal data to Chartink.
- TradingView (tradingview.com) — when you click a symbol, the Extension opens or updates a TradingView chart tab for that symbol. It does not send your watchlists or any personal data to TradingView beyond navigating to the chosen symbol.
The Extension does not send any data to the Developer’s own servers (it has none).
5. Permissions and why they are used
- storage — to save your watchlists and preferences on your device.
- sidePanel — to display the Extension’s interface in the browser side panel.
- tabs — to open and switch TradingView chart tabs, and to open a Chartink screener tab when you import one.
- Host access to
tradingview.com— to update the chart symbol and provide the “Add to Watchlist” button on TradingView pages. - Host access to
chartink.com— to read a screener’s results when you import it.
6. Third-party services
The Extension interacts with Chartink and TradingView only as described above, and only at your request. Your use of those websites is governed by their own privacy policies and terms. The Developer is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Chartink or TradingView.
7. Data sharing and selling
The Extension does not share, transfer, or sell any user data to anyone. There is no data to share, as nothing is collected or transmitted to the Developer.
8. Children’s privacy
The Extension is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
9. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
